We have few announcements and reminders for our blessed community:
1. We would like to remind you about Fasting the day of Ashura’a (Thursday November 14, 2013.) There was some confusion about when is the day of Ashura’a, most of the ummah will observe it on Thursday. It is also recommended to fast the day before it according to the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAWS.)
Ibn ‘Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, fasted the Day of ‘Ashura’ and ordered it to be fasted. [Agreed upon]
Abu Qatada reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about fasting the Day of ‘Ashura’ and said, “It expiates the past year.” [Muslim]
Ibn ‘Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “If I remain alive until next year, I will fast the ninth.” [Muslim]
2. ISPC, Masjed Ebad Alrahman will host an Iftar for the community on Ashura’a, this Thursday, please join us.
3. ISPC, Masjed Ebad Alrahman would like to invite our Muslim community of Tampa Bay to our Annual Eid picnic and Hajjis celebration, this Sunday November 17th, details below.
